GOOD SAMARITAN SPECIALTY CARE

Exposed Beam Chapel

Good Samaritan Specialty Care Community
Robbinsdale, Minnesota
Good Samaritan Society

Good Samaritan Specialty Care Community is home to 96 residents with needs not typically served at a traditional care center.

An entire floor is devoted to residents suffering from Huntington's Disease, a devastating illness causing uncontrollable body movements, mood changes, and uncharacteristic irritability.  Because of these symptoms, walls, bathroom fixtures, and furniture were required to be extremely strong and durable.

Men with behavior challenges occupy their own wing with unique physical requirements, including a high level of security, as well as a sensory room to ease anxiety.

Neighborhoods have their own kitchens, dining rooms, and living spaces encouraging strong community support.

All residents share the two-story exposed beam chapel, and the therapy suite, which includes a practice path featuring stairs, varying walking surfaces and a faux front porch.
